Self Assessment

has been a yearly requirement for the self employed, company directors and those who have other unusual income such as having rental property since the 1996/1997 tax year.
Easy Accountants can help in all aspects of preparing and filing your Self Assessment Return on time and ensure you pay as little tax as possible.

  • UK holiday lets (furnished or unfurnished)
  • Foreign holiday lets

We will claim all available expenses and advise ongoing tax strategies to minimise your tax bills.

Construction Industry Scheme

is a system under which tax is deducted at source for those in the Building Industry.
Easy Accountants can advise sub-contractors and contractors in complying with the schemes sometimes burdensome requirements which can easily give rise to penalties if not careful.
We can advise on registering as a contractor and sub-contractor, running the contractor scheme for you and claiming your tax rebate as a sub-contractor through your Self Assessment.

Value Added Tax

is a very complex tax on consumers introduced first in France in 1954 and in the UK in 1973.
Businesses must register when they reach the threshold (£81,000 as of 14/15) but can optionally register below the threshold to either make their business ‘look bigger or more professional’ or in some cases might have to for ‘Corporate Governance’ reasons from their clients.
There are various different VAT schemes that can be optionally used and Easy Accountants can give you advice on all aspects of VAT including ways to increase your profits through VAT registration.

Payroll

is a requirement when you have part or full time staff.
Self Employed Contractors are not included in PAYE but you should be aware of possible pitfalls around IR35 legislation if you have self employed staff for extended periods.
Payroll also includes the CIS system and with new reporting requirements under the RTI or Real Time Information system you need to be on top of your payroll to avoid hefty penalties.
